The “Glick - Brick Church - Hoy” Cemetery is now cared for and administered by Spirit & Truth Fellowship. This historic cemetery has remarkably survived years and years of neglect, but we have determined to restore it so that the history it contains can be preserved for future generations.

The cemetery was founded in 1806. Located directly behind our church at the intersection of Alspach Rd and Cedar Hill Rd in Bloom Twp, the cemetery and the church building share a common origin and story. If you would like more information on the history of this plot of land, check out the “Building History” page on our website.

The cemetery timeline of burials is an interesting map which shows the general order of the oldest graves to the most recent graves. The image is a large file so a link to it is provided by clicking the image below.

The following image is a very detailed map of the cemetery (a large jpeg file). Each marker contains the name of the person at the grave site as well as the row and number corresponding to the records of previous grave stone readings. There are about 20 head stones that are missing. There are about 60 head stones that we have which “Need Placed.”

Be sure to print out a copy of this map before you come and visit the cemetery. It will make your visit much more enjoyable.

Use the following links to find a specific name of someone buried here:
A-B   C-F   G   H   J-M   N-R   Sa-Sn   So-Z

Take a walk through the cemetery: many of the names have a hyperlink that will go to an image of the head stone. Use the “Back” button on your browser to return to the page of names. It is the next best thing to seeing them in person.

Please note that the highlighted names have misplaced/missing headstones or are otherwise unverified. You may contact Pastor Brent Harris if you would like additional information about any of the names listed.

Would you like to help in preserving this piece of history?

There is plenty of work that needs done in restoring this historic piece of Ohio. Besides the missing and misplaced head stones, many of the markers are leaning and need to be re-set and others are broken and in need of repair. Monetary donations and/or volunteering time would be greatly appreciated from:

  • anyone interested in preserving this part of American history (the early settlers of Fairfield County, Bloom Twp, Ohio as well as several Revolutionary War veterans)
  • anyone who has discovered through genealogy research that this is the final resting place of one or more of your ancestors.

Financial contributions will be used towards the restoration of grave sites and upkeep of the cemetery. If you would like to contribute your time and/or other resources please contact Pastor Brent Harris.

Checks can be made payable to Spirit & Truth Fellowship and sent to

  • If you include your email (or mailing address), we will be sending out periodic newsletters and updates to keep you informed of our progress.
  • It would also be great to know if you are a descendant of one of the many families represented in the cemetery. Included information will be recorded and recognized at the conclusion of the restoration.
  • Please be aware that we are a relatively small church with a limited budget and resources. The progress of the cemetery restoration will be a slow (yet ongoing) project without additional volunteers and resources.
